The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently shared plans for a major roundtable discussion focused on crypto custody. The roundtable agenda will focus on how companies can securely manage digital assets, commonly referred to as crypto custody

But something strange has caught people’s attention—Paul Atkins, the new SEC Chair, is missing from the plan.

No Sign of Paul Atkins

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the appointment of Paul Atkins to lead the SEC. The U.S. Senate reportedly confirmed this on April 9

Naturally, many expected to see him leading the charge, especially during such a high-profile crypto discussion. But instead, the SEC listed acting chair Mark Uyeda as the official lead for the upcoming April 25 event.

So far, the SEC hasn’t made any official statement about Atkins starting his new role. And since his name isn’t on the event list, people are wondering — is there a delay, or is something else going on?
